As the population gets older the UK government, alongside a growing number of innovative start-ups, have spotted a growing opportunity to help people live better as they age.
With aging comes myriad health and medical issues. Many of these are extremely common yet remain under-discussed, and underserved by design. Incontinence and poor mobility are two of many.
Although these issues are often associated with older people, a vast number of the population also live with disabilities that require the support of occupational therapy products.
Oscar and his team have supported multiple exciting UK and European companies working in this space, ranging from large manufacturers to million dollar funded start-ups. Select projects have won international design awards, and been exhibited in the Design Museum in Kensington, London (below).
Projects engagements range from early-stage innovation sprints, through to end-to-end design, development and manufacture support for regulated medical devices. He has also supported corporate businesses in the space with design transformation projects
