The rapidly growing health and wellness industry is an area that straddles both consumer and medical sectors and particularly suits Oscar's hybrid enterprise.
Whether the product is classed as a regulated medical device or not, the direct-to-consumer route to market demands a level of Industrial Design and Experience Design that can compete with consumer businesses on the global stage.
Beginning with supporting the design of a Gas-powered portable nebuliser for Linde Innovation at Team Consulting, Oscar has gone on to win, manage and design various health and wellness products as an independent consultant and for his own business.
In collaboration with a Biotech startup, Oscar led his consultancy Tone Product Design's successful bid for a highly competitive InnovateUK Design Foundations grant. The feedback received from the IUK team at the end of the project was exceptional, with the project described as one of the best examples ever seen.
Other project examples include wearable devices to improve mobility in those with blindness or partial vision, a first-response product for Jellyfish stings, a luxury skin microbiome test kit, electro-stimulation devices and more.
With the projects often commissioned by SMEs and start-up founders, Oscar has built extensive experience advising clients at a strategic level with regard to business-critical R&D activities.
